BURFORD EMERGENCY ACTION TEAM (“BEAT”)

BEAT will help “at risk” people through the coronavirus crisis for however long it lasts. “At risk” means:-

                               Over 70

                               Disabled or long term sick

                               Pregnant

                               Otherwise housebound

If you know anybody, or know of anybody, in any of these categories who needs help please notify John White at john.white@burford-tc.gov.uk or on 01993 822296.

If you are willing to help please notify Maggie Andrews at town.clerk@burford-tc.gov.uk or on 01993 823647.

“Help” includes shopping, collecting prescriptions, dog walking, phone or email visits and anything else which the affected person cannot do for himself or herself and which does not involve entering their home.

TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984

 Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, that the Oxfordshire County Council 

TEMPORARILY PROHIBITS THE USE OF THE HIGHWAY

BY ALL MOTOR VEHICLES

         

         LOCATION:         Burford, A40 Burford at the junction of Burford Roundabout and Tanners Lane                   

         REASON:            To facilitate the demolition of a footbridge

DURATION:         Starting on 28 March 2020

                                     The anticipated completion date is 29 March 2020 .(date included). The closure will operate at night time between 19:00 and 10:00.

                                     (Traffic Regulation Notices cover a maximum of 5 consecutive days.)

        

         ACCESS:             Limited access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for frontages within the closed section of road, subject to the progress of the works

 

SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: via A40-A429-A417-A361 and vice versa

Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice – S14 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Road Closure at Burford, A40 Burford to County Boundary

 

In the interests of public safety it will be necessary for Oxfordshire County Council to close the road as detailed above in order to facilitate carriageway resurfacing work.

A temporary Notice is being made to implement the temporary closure and will operate from 25 February 2020 up to and including 26 February 2020. This closure will operate between 08:00pm and 07:00am (20:00 to 07:00) hours.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice is being made to implement the temporary closure and restriction and will operate on the days shown above.

Please note that Notices for urgent works can last up to 5 consecutive days only.

Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for those frontages within the closure area, subject to the progress of the works and liaison with the works supervisor.

A copy of the drawing showing the extent of the closure and also the alternative routes for traffic is attached.

TEMPORARILY PROHIBITS THE USE OF THE HIGHWAY

BY ALL MOTOR VEHICLES

 

        

         LOCATION:         Carterton, 93a Shilton Road (B4020), OX18 1EN

 

         REASON:           New service water connection

 

DURATION:         Starting on 20 April 2020

                             The anticipated completion date is 24 April 2020

                            

                             (full closure 24hrs each day)

 

                                     (Traffic Regulation Notices cover a maximum of 5 consecutive days)

        

         ACCESS:             Limited access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for frontages within the closed section of road, subject to the progress of the works

 

 

         SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: The alternative routes for traffic are  

         via a combination of: Shilton Road (B4020) – A361 – B4477 – Upavon

         Way (B4020) – Burford Road and vice-versa.
