Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Burford, Cheltenham Road (A40)

Prohibition of Vehicles

Date of Order: 15 March 2021

Coming into force: 19 March 2021

This Order is being introduced because of carriageway maintenance works which is anticipated to take 10 days between 7:30pm and 5am to be completed.

The effect of the order is to temporarily prohibit vehicles using the A40 between Tanners Lane and Burford roundabout (A361).

Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road.

The alternative route for traffic is via the A361 to Lechlade – A417 towards Cirencester – A429 (Stow Road) – A40 towards Burford, and vice-versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner.
